Facelift Case Study 15

This lady has had a face and neck lift with SMAS elevation in a vertical plane and a neck lift with separate elevation of the platysma and mobilization with sutures. The dual vector lift helps to improve the jaw line.?The final postop images are taken at 5 years postop.

Facelift Case Study 19

The ligaments in the face tend to remain fixed with age but the soft tissue hangs and droops off them. This produces hollowing in the midface and jowl formation. Repositioning of the internal layers of the face is imperative to try and improve these issues.

Facelift Case Study 46

Aging related changes of the midface with jowl formation and platysma bands with extensive aging changes in the lower neck improved with face-lift and neck lift. Repositioning of the SMAS vertically and midface volume enhancement.

Total Body Lift Case Study 7

Increased fat and skin excess exists circumferentially which is particularly noticeable on the flanks with poorly defined hips and waist. Excess tissue was also present on the tummy and a total body lift allowed removal of excess tissue all the way round the body. Repositioning of the inner layers of the trunk gives better waist definition and an improvement of the buttock contour.

Total Body Lift Case Study 13

Severe skin excess on the back and buttocks. This is a postop result at 2 years with the scar faded into a white line. The buttocks have been repositioned during a body lift and although improvement in the upper thighs is not guaranteed there is often an improvement in this area as seen postoperatively.

Total Body Lift Case Study 15

This lady has had both an upper and a lower body lift to remove all the excess skin of her abdomen. She has lost over half her body weight and this has left her with extensive excess skin. In scenarios like this patient need to be aware of the limitations of surgery and often multiple surgeries are required to improve the contour.

Body Liposuction Case Study 4

Liposuction of the trunk, abdomen, hips and thighs can be performed at the same time. Liposuction of the abdomen is best in the mid and lower regions where there is excess fat rather than excess skin. Contouring the flanks is an excellent way of defining the waist in patients with good quality skin.

Body Lift Case Study 1

This lady had lost a considerable amount of weight and underwent a total bodylift. Skin is removed from all the way around the abdomen and allows one also to tighten the abdominal wall which is often weakened following weight loss. The final result is seen almost a year afterwards. The improvement in contour is considerable. Patients must be aware of the prolonged recovery and need to consult with plastic surgeons experienced in the technique. It is important for patients to mobilise early and by improving surgical techniques this procedure can be carried out without drains and an immediate mobilisation programme instigated hours following surgery. Patients are often able to go home the next day although it will take a number of weeks to be able to regain full normal posture. The posterior image of this lady above shows that if this lady had chosen an abdominoplasty it would not have addressed this area. A body lift is able to help lift the excess skin and improve the contour of the buttock region. It is much superior to a buttock lift in obtaining this result and patients with similar issues must consult with a plastic surgeon with experience in total body lifting to go through the pros and cons of the differing techinques

Body Liposuction Case Study 24

This lady was underwent liposuction of her abdomen and thighs and flanks. In patients with good quality skin irregularities are relatively uncommon. One does have to limit the amount of fat one can remove with liposuction and for isolated liposuction Mr Ross uses body jet liposuction to enhance recovery. This technique uses water assistance, which allows the tissues to become tumescent. This reduces bruising and swelling and the results are seen at 6 weeks postoperatively when the majority of swelling has settled.

Body Liposuction Case Study 22

This lady has good quality skin and excess fat on her arms. In this scenario liposuction only is an option to reduce the excess fat. Often there will be a degree of skin retraction and for patients with good quality skin a smooth appearance without irregularities is possible.
