Mr Gary Ross is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon in the North West of England and offers an individualized range of plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments to enhance appearance. He consults and operates at the BMI Alexandra hospital in Cheshire and at The Christie Clinic in Didsbury, Manchester. He is a member of BAAPS and BAPRAS and is a fully accredited plastic surgeon on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for plastic surgery. Fellowships: Mentor International Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at King Edward VII Hospital, London; North West Aesthetic Fellowship in Chester, Liverpool and Manchester; One year Oncoplastic fellowship in Toronto, Canada (breast and head and neck surgery); two year fellowship in Canniesburn Hospital, Glasgow (head and neck and facial plastics).

Summary Of Curriculum Vitae

Having qualified in medicine at the University of Bristol he underwent a basic surgical training in Australia, Bristol and Plymouth before beginning a career in plastic surgery in 1997. Following experience in the plastic surgery units of Plymouth and Bristol he spent two years in the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow as a head and neck fellow completing a higher doctorate (MD) in head and neck surgery.

Following this he completed his speciality plastic surgery training programme in the North West leading to a further qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS plast) and subsequently the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). His fellowships have included the mentor international aesthetic surgery fellowship (King Edward V11 Hospital, Harley Street, London), the North West Aesthetic Fellowship (Chester,Liverool,Manchester) and a 1 year North American plastic surgery fellowship in Toronto (Canada) in head and neck and breast surgery.

In 2007 Mr Ross took up a consultant post in the NHS in 2007 and having retired from the NHS in 2013 now provides plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic treatments from his private practice based at the BMI Alexandra in Cheadle.

Mr Ross is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). Association of Breast Surgeons (ABS), British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO), General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and has a Certification of Completion of Training (CCT) Plastic Surgery. He has served on the council of BAHNO for three years and been the breast speciality lead for BAPRAS for three years (2012-2015). He is on the medical advisory committee for the BMI Alexandra and is currently the plastic surgery representative on the national BMI consultant reference group.

Mr Ross is an Honorary Senior Lecturer University of Manchester and is dedicated to teaching, training and mentorship. He is currently a mentor for BAAPS and currently provides anatomical cadaveric workshops for aesthetic training. Please click here to go to education and training. He is actively involved in teaching both undergraduate Medical Students and postgraduate Plastic Surgical Trainees through his role as honorary senior clinical lecturer. He has helped to develop the MSc in Skin ageing through the University of Manchester and regularly teaches and trains in aesthetic medicine and surgery
