Mr Ross began his teacher training at the University of Bristol in 1996 achieving his teacher training certificate while demonstrating anatomy at the University of Bristol to medical, dental and veterinary students. During his plastic surgery training he completed the teaching the trainers course with up to date training in workbased assessments/appraisal and ISCP training. As a consultant he completed the GCP training course for research/medical ethics, medical management, appraisal and advanced communication skills.
Mr Ross supervises and has supervised medical students successfully through BSc, MSc, MD and PhD projects. He has taught on many international courses and organised a number of instructional courses both nationally and internationally. He is currently an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester and always welcomes the opportunity to educate and train.
Mr Ross has been teaching on the Johnson and Johnson Mentor cadaveric workshop for 5 years as a member of the faculty, training consultants and trainees and is part of the mentor global teaching council and the EMEA faculty through which he has delivered live webinar teaching. Mr Ross has advised for a number of major pharmaceutical companies including Johnson and Johnson, Roche and Allergan.
In 2014 Mr Ross helped to establish the Aesthetic Medicine MSc in Skin Ageing at the University of Manchester. This involved the development of a surgical elearning module covering the range of invasive aesthetic techniques. This course has an elearning and practical component utilising cadaveric teaching methods which Mr Ross oversees as overall clinical lead for the invasive surgical component.
Mr Ross spends a lot of time updating his clinical knowledge and acumen, sharing and education and developing new ideas with colleagues and travels extensively to find out the best way to treat patients and deliver the optimal outcomes.
