Mastopexy Case Study 31

This lady has seen a droop of her breast down her chest wall. The footprint is low and the nipples sit a long distance from the aesthetic ideal. She has asymmetry and wished to try and improve the symmetry in terms of both size and shape. She wished to undergo a breast lift or mastopexy and wished to increase the volume of the upper pole of her breast. The results are shown at 6 weeks. It can take 12-18 months for the scars to completely fade and all the sensation to return and massage is important at this stage to help recovery. This lady also had fat transfer to the upper pole and the results of fat transfer can only truly be seen at a year.

When considering mastopexy or breast reduction it is important to also consider the pros and cons of breast augmentation with breast implants and the use of autologous fat transfer.
