Breast Augmentation Revision Case Study 41

Alterations in the results following breast augmentation do occur with time. Where patients have minimal tissue the breast implants act as tissue expanders. The anatomical breast implants were initially placed under the muscle by Mr Ross and over time the left lower pole became over expanded leading to a high riding nipple and over expansion of the left lower pole skin. A revisionary procedure has been performed and the results are seen at 9 months. The excess skin of the lower pole has been reduced and a slightly less projected anatomical implant with a similar volume has been used to help correct the asymmetry. It is important that patients understand the limitations of all corrective surgery and that with all revisions that the more operations that one performs the more risks can be possible.
