What Are The Different Types Of Facial Implants Available?

It’s important to understand that there are different types of facial implants available and there are different anatomical locations in which the procedure can be conducted. For most patients, the most common places they choose to have implants include the chin and cheeks. For the next video in our vlog series, we look deeper into facial implants and the different options you have as a patient.

As well as there being different types of facial implants, there are also several options available to change the appearance of the face, including having a fat transfer and also fillers which are a form of non-surgical treatment which can be applied in addition to facial implants.

A case study has been provided to show how the fat transfer method is used and the images show the results both pre and pro-operatively. As you can see, this particular option provides a subtle change to the appearance of the face. The second case study shows the use of facial implants on the chin and is seen as a more common form of facial implant surgery. The images of the patient show that the results of facial implants are visible, more enhancing but it is worth noting that the use of facial implants can come with larger risks. This is mainly due to the fact that the different types of facial implants can move and migrate around the area over time due to their silicone texture. Treatment is conducted carefully, however, to ensure that this issue doesn’t arise.

Due to the different types of facial implants available, it’s important to discuss the pros and cons of each treatment during your consultation before surgery.
